The sand blasting cabinet has two types: pressure blasting cabinets and suction blast cabinets. Pressure blasting is much faster and more aggressive than suction blasting. Suction blasting is mainly used for light production jobs, and general cleaning of workpieces.
Suction blasting cabinets have special blasting gun with two hoses. One hose is operated by pedal and is connected to compressed air. Other hose is connected to the tank for abrasive. The jet of compressed air creates the vacuum inside the gun that pulls the abrasive through the pipe, which is connected to the tank. When it comes to the gun, vacuum pulls the abrasive through the hose that is connected to the tank. Abrasive is then siphoned through the nozzle from tungsten carbide.
In the case of pressure blast cabinets, the abrasive comes to a special gun, through abrasive-resistant hose that is connected to the tank for abrasive.
When it is under the pressure, the air pushes the abrasive through the hose to the gun, where it is a powerful jet with high working capacity (approx. 4-5 times higher than in the suction blast cabinets). Gun can be easily moved, allowing to direct the jet on the workpiece.
